Digestive Enzymes...what are they?
Digestive enzymes that you are born with occur
naturally in the body and their purpose is to aid the food enzymes in
digestion. Digestive enzymes most commonly known are secreted from the
pancreas into the stomach and small intestine. They are protease, which
breaks down proteins, amylase for breaking down carbohydrates, lipase
for the breakdown of fats, and cellulase for fiber.
Digestive Enzymes...why you need to supplement.
Digestive enzymes are killed when cooking your food
at over 118 degrees. The same is true for micro-waving and processing
foods. You can eat all the healthy food and take all the vitamins and
supplements you want but unless the enzymes are there they are not very
effective in maintaining a healthy body.
Almost
all degenerative diseases stem from a lack of complete digestion and
improper elimination of what you ingest into your body.

Digestive Enzymes...why plant-derived?
Digestive enzymes derived from plants are more precious
than gold or diamonds. Your body requires enzymes to regulate
every
biochemical and metabolic process in your body. Why plant-derived
digestive enzymes versus animal or fruit-derived
enzymes like Papain, Pancreatin, Oxbile? First of all, plant enzymes are
active in a broad pH range of 2 to 12 and temperature ranges of 75 to
122 deg F, well within the human body's normal temperature and pH ranges.
Animal enzymes do not activate until they reach the higher pH of the
small intestinal tract so they are not going to be very effective at aiding
your body in pre-digestion or be active in the upper alkaline portion of
your stomach. Papains optimum temperature of activity is between 140 deg
and 158 deg F, way above your body's temperature to be utilized in aiding in
digestion.
Our digestive enzymes utilize only plant based enzymes from the aspergillus
source. These enzymes are Protease, Lipase, Amylase, Cellulase, Sucrase,
Invertase (Maltase), Lactase. Ultimate Enzymes also contains
Bromelain. This is a full spectrum complete formulation.
